Who We Are

Converting Tropical Uganda into a Treepical Uganda

Green Black Gold Ltd is a Ugandan biochar company built on a simple but powerful idea: plant eucalyptus trees at scale, convert the harvested biomass into premium biochar, apply that biochar to farmers' soils, and sell the resulting permanent carbon removal credits to global buyers.

Every step of this cycle creates value — for farmers, for Uganda's environment, and for the global climate. Our three-pillar model (Green, Black, Gold) integrates forestry, sustainable charcoal production, and climate finance into one self-reinforcing system.

What Drives Us

Our Values

Ecological Integrity

Every plantation is established on degraded land. We never clear natural forest. Biodiversity corridors and native species buffers are built into every project design.

Farmer First

Smallholder farmers are not just beneficiaries — they are GBG's core partners. Fair pricing, guaranteed offtake, and genuine profit-sharing are non-negotiable commitments.

Uncompromising MRV

We apply the highest international verification standards — EBC and Puro.earth — because the integrity of carbon removal credits depends entirely on rigorous, independent measurement.

Transparent Impact

We publish our planting data, biochar production volumes, carbon verification reports, and farmer income statistics openly — so every stakeholder can track real progress.
