The Green Pillar

Plantation Forestry

200 million eucalyptus trees by 2040. Large-scale plantation forestry and agroforestry creates the renewable biomass foundation for the entire GBG system, while restoring degraded land and green corridors across Uganda.

The Black Pillar

Charcoal & Biochar

Sustainable charcoal and premium biochar produced from plantation biomass using advanced retort kilns — eliminating destructive forest charcoal from Uganda's supply chain while generating two revenue streams.

The Gold Pillar

Carbon Credits & Finance

Every tonne of biochar applied to soil locks CO₂ away for centuries, generating EBC and Puro.earth certified carbon removal credits and attracting global climate capital to Uganda's farmers.

Why Eucalyptus

Uganda's Plantation Story

Eucalyptus is Uganda's fastest-growing commercial timber. It thrives in the Ugandan climate, reaching harvestable size in 4–7 years on a coppice rotation — meaning farmers harvest repeatedly from the same root system without replanting.

GBG works directly with smallholder farmers, providing seedlings, agronomic training, and a guaranteed market. Every tree planted supports a family's income, improves degraded soils, and eventually feeds the biochar kiln system.
